Slavs, it appears, have the oldest folk traditions alive today that go back in a direct line all the way to before the Indo Europeans 6,000 years ago! Which is really no mistake. It places them as the white people that are closest to paganism. I knew of Baba Yaga and her chicken-legged hut and all the Kiev legends but today I learned the vast majority of Slavs weren’t Christianized until the 15th-17th centuries – although they did have a chief God.
